Adopt a Great Dane / Mixed

Great Dane / Mixed Dog

Lancelot D3854 the Dog needs a home

Hello, I was named Lancelot, but I feel more like a Ziggy Stardust, and have been answering to plain old Ziggy. They tell me I'm a Lab/Dane mix, but I'm sure a lot smaller than my foster brother, who is a Great Dane mix. Of course, I was only born in February 2017, so perhaps I have a bit of growing left to do. Right now I'm just about 70 pounds, and have been hanging steady there for the past month.

I have made my foster mom and dad so proud with my house-training! When I first came home, I sometimes marked in the house when I felt nervous, and now I'm feeling safe and wait until we go outside almost all the time. I just haven't figured out how to say I need to go out yet. I also enjoy my crate, and will sometimes head in there on my own to decompress. That is where I sleep at night. It did take me a bit longer to adjust to my nice foster home and family, but now I really like to snuggle my people and rough-house with my foster brother and sister. I have never met a cat, but I am VERY interested in the sugar gliders who live with us, and I sure wish I could get closer to them... A house with no children, or only older children would probably be best, as too much rowdy ruckus can kind of scare me and make me very uncomfortable!

As far as fully grown humans go, I love them all! I get pretty excited to meet new friends. I am told I need to work on not jumping up when I'm happy. I'm quiet most of the time, but will let out a playful bark sometimes when we're running around the yard, and I feel I must announce anyone walking by on the street, but my people don't seem to like that, so I stop when they tell me to. I like to lay under the table during dinner, but I don't beg for scraps like my foster siblings do.

I like to go for long walks, and I almost never pull on my leash, but if I see a squirrel, I just can't help myself. I am really very good at sitting on command, and am even starting to figure out that I need to sit to get my leash on or off, or to have my meals served, sometimes without being told. I caught on to that really quickly, and remember my manners even more often than my older foster brother. I just like to make my people happy.

I like to play by running around like a maniac outside, and sometimes fetch is fun, but if I get sick of it, I will hide my ball from you! I enjoy chewing, and I can destroy a stuffy or rubbery toy awful quick, so I like the firmer ones better. Even though chewing is fun, I haven't chewed on a single one of my humans' things. Car rides are really fun too. I like to sit in back and watch the scenery. When I get in a snuggly mood, I just cannot get enough love, and I would like to snuggle real close and get pets, especially on my belly. Even though they say I'm still a pup, I'm a pretty mellow guy. Baths and being put in a Christmas sweater don't phase me a bit. I do get pretty excited when my people get home, and then I have to boing around so they know it, and I even snort like a pig!
